Its been so long since i stop writing as School is really killing me and my i had to sort out my messy life.
Last week, as i walk pass the bridge in NTU, a poster caught my attention. Its a poster that tells people about the blood donation drive in NTU. Xiao Yan saw me looking at the poster, ask me about it, and that was when we decided to donate.
This morning, met up with XY and we went to the QUAD( a cafe in NTU) to register for the donation. All girls had to wait for the busy nurse to check their if their vein is suitable for the thick needle. So i had to wait for XY to finish her check. As XY is not those skinny skinny girl, I thought that she will pass the test. However, her vein is too thin. Haiz…Damn sian.. I had to donate alone as Wei Liang too SCARE to donate, XY cant donate and the rest of my friends just too scare of the needle. Luckily still got XY to pei me, if not i had to endure the long wait alone. After filling the forms, doctor screen and blood test, I proceeded to the holding area waiting for my turn. My mind is having a battle, I’m scare of needle and i have to had a thick needle poking into my arm. “110″, the volunteer called. Its my turn.

I walked to the bed and lie there, going through the same battle. ‘Haiz, think so much for what..Just do it la..’ OK..my mind is set. As the nurse is setting up the tube and needles and bags, I had a little chat with her, which helps to lessen my anxiety. First, she clean my cubital fossa ( area in front of the elbow) and then inject a local anesthesia, followed by the thick needle. Amazingly, it doesn’t hurt at all. Or i can say not as pain as i expected it to be. After all the squeezing of the small “heart”, the bag is full with my blood. I think my blood flow quite fast. The guy opposite me had his arm poke first and after i finish my bag, his is still like 3/4. Yeah..finally my arm can get bandage up with the cool yellow bandage with smiley face all over. =)

Haha..I’m O+, this means that my blood can save almost anyone. Thinking that my pack of blood can save a life, I’m so satisfied with what i did today. Looking forward to the next blood donation day.=)
